विकार शब्द का अर्थ क्या होता है ? हम समझते हैं विकार शब्द मतलब कोई खराब चीज पर ऐसा नहीं है ! मनोविकार का अर्थ मन की गंदगी नहीं है | विकार का अर्थ है, कुछ नया ! माता से बच्चा हुआ, ये माता का विकार है क्योंकि वो माता से उत्पन्न होता है, पर बच्चा कोई गन्दगी नहीं है | जब किसी चीज से, कोई नयी चीज निकलती है, उसे विकार कहते हैं | जैसे कि कमल, क अर्थात जल और जो जल का मल है, उससे निकला, कमल चीज नहीं होती | ऐसे ही, मन के विकार, जो उसके भाव हैं, रति, उत्साह, शोक, हास्य आदि भी कोई खराब चीज नहीं हैं | मन है, तो ये चीजें भी अवश्य होंगी |
